I am an experienced osteopath having qualified in 2000 from the British School of Osteopathy (now University College of Osteopathy) with a BSc (Hons) degree in Osteopathy. I have been fully registered continually with the General Osteopathic Council since qualification.
I use traditional techniques such as massage, spinal manipulation, myofascial release and stretching, with medical acupuncture, including electroacupuncture. I am trained in Kinesiotaping techniques to advanced KTA level 3 (Sports). I used an evidence based approach, and as a qualified Pilates Teacher I can give exercises for your rehabilitation.
I blend all these treatment modalities according to what you need - or prefer - so please feel you can say what works best for you if you already have a preference for a type of treatment. However please note that I do not run a ‘quick fix’ practice! Instead I work with you to understand your problem, do some first aid of course if needed to get you moving, but then look to the medium and then more longer term strategies to equip you to understand and manage the issues you have.
I gained my experience by joining the Bexley Osteopathic Clinic on qualifying in 2000. I also spent 10 years from 2007 - 2017 mentored by Emma Bryant at the Chelmsford Osteopathy Centre. I completed extensive post-graduate training with the British School of Osteopathy and London School of Osteopathy. It was in taking up Hatha Yoga due to a shoulder injury in 2018, that I found Deva Yoga Studio and started my own practice with their team of Wellness therapists. I also joined The Chislehurst Clinic for two years in an expert team of professionals with podiatry, biomechanical gait assessment, physiotherapy and osteopathy all under one roof. In 2021, driven by wanting to offer the best in-house care I could, I qualified as a Pilates Instructor and this has further informed my latest chapter in returning to practice in Bexley Village again, joining Pilates Body Studio as their resident osteopath.
I also work in the NHS as a medical acupuncturist at the Royal London Hospital for Integrated Medicine in Great Ormond Street, part of University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, where I treat patients with headaches, migraines, facial pain and complex chronic pain conditions. I have used acupuncture since 2005 and have a Masters degree in Western Medical Acupuncture from the University of Hertfordshire. I am an accredited member of the British Medical Acupuncture Society, for whom I also a course tutor, teaching medical and allied health professionals.
I keep mentally and physically sound with pool and open water swimming, running, Hatha Yoga, Pilates and functional bodyweight training. My mantra is Motion is Lotion.
