I work from two locations. Both offer modern, ground floor, step-free access to treatment rooms and toilets.
Deva Yoga Studio, Chislehurst = MONDAY & FRIDAY
Pilates Body Studio, Bexley = WEDNESDAY & SATURDAY
You can visit me at either or both, and chop and change locations as convenient.
CHISLEHURST
Deva Yoga Studio https://devayoga.co.uk/ is at 12 Belmont Parade, Green Lane, Chislehurst, BR7 6AN. (opposite the Gordon Arms in the Chislehurst end of Green Lane)which runs parallel to Chislehurst High Street, It is a 3-minute walk from the main car parks, bus services, and high street shops.
Deva Yoga is a beautiful, boutique studio in Chislehurst. Modern, clean and air-conditioned, the therapy room is at ground floor level just off reception, with step free access for treatments and toilets, so perfect for anyone who cannot manage stairs.
A small local business, they offer Yoga, Pilates, stretching, fitness, Tai Chi, and Meditation/Gong Bath/Relaxation classes for all ages, with chair yoga for the actively less mobile. They also run specialist workshops with guest teachers, and three or four Retreats a year. Since the first pandemic lockdown they have also streamed some of their classes for live participation on Zoom. Please browse their regularly revised timetable and consider joining them in the studio or from your mat at home. https://devayoga.co.uk/ Or check out their YouTube site for an introduction: https://youtu.be/YCyoiCzpXA4
PARKING: The paid for High Street car parks and side street parking bays operated by the council use exclusively RingGo (app or pay-by-phone), not cards or cash. Bromley Council have introduced a Controlled Parking Zone on the opposite side of the street to us which operates in the daytime as residents/permit holders only from 08:30 - 18:30. There are parking bays near us: two on the corner of Edward Road opposite us, two in Woodside Avenue, and two in Alexander Road for a maximum of 2 hours.
The CPZ has displaced cars to the side streets on our side of Green Lane, and reduced the availability of free parking immediately close by. The best free road parking availability is further up in Belmont Lane past the Co-op. There is some free street parking available opposite in Green Lane, and in Belmont Lane which is a 3-5 minute walk. Or you can use the Co-op car park but please support the shop by purchasing something.
NB If you are being picked up/dropped off be aware we are on a zig-zag for the zebra crossing and double yellow lines so it is not possible to legally stop directly outside. The bus stop on the parade has a TfL enforcement camera, so avoid pulling in there.
BEXLEY
Pilates Body Studio is in ‘Old’ Bexley village, at the site of The Mill, 88 High Street, Bexley, Kent DA5 1BF. Conveniently situated next to the main car park in the village, it is one minute’s walk from your car, or well served by local bus routes 132 229, 269, 492 and B12 which stop 3 minutes walk away by Bexley Library, or the 269 which stops 5 minutes walk away at the top of the village at the War Memorial. Bexley station is a 5 minute walk to the platform.
PARKING: Please do not park in The Mill which is reserved parking for staff and residents. The main car park is 1 minute away, and there is another in Thanet Road. Both use the RingGo app for payment. There is free local parking in surrounding streets, controlled by a CPZ. Some bays are restricted to 1 hour stay Monday to Saturday, whilst others are only restricted from 10:00 - 11:00 weekdays, to prevent all day parking. Do pay close attention to the street signs, as restrictions can vary even in the same road, and make sure you get enough time as traffic wardens are prompt to issue a ticket if you overstay.
PBS is owned by Body Control Pilates Instructor Genine Price, who has been teaching in the village over 20 years. She moved into the site of The Mill in 2013. Modern, clean and airy, the therapy room is at ground floor level just off reception, with step free access for treatments, classes and toilets, so perfect for anyone less mobile or injured. Other holistic and complementary treatments are offered onsite such as physiotherapy, counselling, therapeutic massage, traditional chinese acupuncture and reflexology.
The studio has two fully equipped reformer suites and offers group and individual equipment classes as well as mat-work group classes that are also available for live online participation. They also have one-off masterclasses and guest workshops. Check out their website to view over 50 classes a week at https://www.pilatesbodystudio.co.uk/contact-us/ and their YouTube channel https://youtu.be/feyg1xHRPOE
Genine and I have run Pilates for rehabilitation workshops together. Being a qualified Pilates teacher myself I am able to liaise closely with the instructors about any injury you may have, and what would be best to help you participate safely in your Pilates class.
