Pilates Body Studio is in ‘Old’ Bexley village, at the site of The Mill, 88 High Street, Bexley, Kent DA5 1BF. It is owned by Body Control Pilates Instructor Genine Price, who has been teaching in the village since she qualified in 2004. She moved into the site of The Mill in 2013. Some of you may remember the Beefeater that used to be there, and the Laidlaw’s Ford garage, just under the bridge.
Conveniently situated next to the main car park in the village, it is one minute’s walk from your car, or well served by local bus routes 132 229, 269, 492 and B12 which stop 3 minutes walk away by Bexley Library, or the 269 which stops 5 minutes walk away at the top of the village at the War Memorial. Bexley station is a 5 minute walk to the platform.
Modern, clean and airy, the therapy room is at ground floor level just off reception, with step free access for treatments, classes and toilets, so perfect for anyone less mobile or injured.
They also offer other holistic and complementary treatments onsite such as physiotherapy, counselling, therapeutic massage, traditional chinese acupuncture and reflexology.
The studio has two fully equipped reformer suites and offers group and individual equipment classes as well as mat-work group classes that are also available for live online participation. They also have one-off masterclasses and guest workshops. Check out their website to view over 50 classes a week at https://www.pilatesbodystudio.co.uk/contact-us/ and their YouTube channel https://youtu.be/feyg1xHRPOE
Genine and I have run Pilates for rehabilitation workshops together. Being a qualified Pilates teacher myself I am able to liaise closely with the instructors about any injury you may have, and what would be best to help you participate safely in your Pilates class.
PARKING: The main car park and the one in Thanet Road use the RingGo app for payment, although the main car park has one coin accepting machine as well. There is free local parking in surrounding streets, controlled by a CPZ. Some bays are restricted to 1 hour stay Monday to Saturday, whilst others are only restricted from 10:00 - 11:00 weekdays, to prevent all day parking. Do pay close attention to the street signs as restrictions can vary in the same road, and make sure you get a ticket for enough time as traffic wardens are prompt to issue a ticket if you overstay.
Please do not park in The Mill reserved parking.
